The grouping below is a teaching proposal by Mandarin Sprout, not the full CTI grammar syllabus.
是 for identity
是 links a subject to a noun identifying it. Do not use 是 before an ordinary descriptive adjective in this pattern.
吗 at the end of a question
Keep statement word order and add 吗 at the end to form a yes–no question.
不 for habitual negation
Place 不 before the verb. Negating the existence expressed by 有 usually requires 没有.
The measure word 本
Use 本 for books, 杯 for cups of drinks, and 辆 for vehicles. The number precedes the measure word.
在 for location
在 introduces the place where a person or thing is located.
的 for possession
Possessor + 的 + possession. This example is not the emphatic 是…的 construction.
Suggested review cycle
- Read the method and practice a few questions before working on speed.
- Read explanations and retry missed questions. Only attempts without hints count as independent success.
- Write or speak, save a draft, then revise using the checklist.
- Check official sample papers before timed practice. The correct-answer rate here is not an exam score.
